    Default 3rd party lenses

I'm looking for a 3rd party lens for my Nikon F601.
Looking at brands like Tokina, Tamron, and Sigma.
Which is a better buy amongst the 3 brands mentioned?

    Range 28mm-70mm F2.8 constant

I am not sure about lens prices, so I not sure about my budget.
Preferbly not above $500. 2nd hand lenses r fine.

    I do landscape & portraits.

    Thanx

Think most of the people would recommend the Tokina ATX pro II 28-70 f/2.8 (AF) which fits your budget too.

Not sure about any other manual focus lens in this range and whether it's still available new in shops.

How much is a brand new one, and which shop to go for a good deal?

Saw it at camera workshop sometime ago. 2nd hand around $370.
Did not buy as it had a little dent.

You wish to consider the Sigma 28mm-105mm F2.8-F4.
New at about $350. Is a very general lens that can use to shoot
almost everything. Produces very sharp image too.
