Hi kind people I need a simple answer!
Is the tamron 17-35 suppose to be sharper than my EFs18-55? from the reviews and test results on the www. it is suppose to be so. I think I got a lemon, but sad... my seller may know but keep quiet! I took some shots comparing them, they are identical in sharpness or shall i say blurness and if not, t tamron is worse than the kit 18-55 lens? those who own this is lens either canon or nikon. Can you compare a hot and share your finding? lemon buyer, sad to try to upgrade my kit lens and be kidded! MK |

Hi there,
I used to own the 17-35 and mine was tack sharp. Why not post a picture for us to see? It could have been a mis-focus or handshake. Well I am just guessing. BTW, you should have tested the lens before making purchase. Hope that helps. Cheers! |

now is it the issue of sharpness or contrast? or is it the problem with the shooting technique?
would be interested to take a look at the picture as well.. |

what is EXIF info?
will post for discussion! 1 month to do the rework? They don't do it here? Guess I got lemon face! I was afraid this kind of problem and I had got a brand new 28-135 sopme time back! after some testing I send back to canon to verify! They took some shots and took a brand new piece from the box for me to compare. Guess what!!! Thier new piece is WORST than my New piece! They did a test and confirm that its a back focus problem! After 2 days, they lens is tack sharp! Sharper than tamron 28-75 comparing F8 to F8 all the way. Those who say thier tamron is sharpher than the 28-135 THEY NEED TO CALIBRATE THIER CANON. Is that a batch problem with the canon, I'll let you decide? Ok! I'll contact the wholeseller and return me lemon. MK The Lemon face, lemon faith. And to all lens seller9that includes me)! Please do warn the buyer if you wan to sell lemon! Shalll I name my seller????![]() |

EXIF is the data you can extract about the photo you took. go over to the digital photo professional programme that came w/ the camera package and, right click -> info. then you will see the exposure, focal length, metering and a lot of other stuff.
they send it back to tamron in japan, and i think its worth the wait. f/8 leh, anything will be sharp la. you compare them wide open and f/4 and f/5.6 and see. |

thanx for the comfort.
will contact tamron. Tried F8, F11, and also the widest for both!!! Generally the results are the same kit lens is superior in all ways! The surprise is that this lens print MADE IN JAPAN? While my tamron 28-75 print MADE IN CHINA, yet solid soild! ok! It's a lemon alright! Go sleep now knowing it can be better after calibration. Will try to locate this post after I calibrate and share this case. thanx all |
