for the fire shots, how did u keep the man totally in focus but leave the streaks of fire?

Or were there already streaks of fire so don't need to slow down the shutter speed?

Use flash to "freeze" the person. Rear sync flash.

Power of D1x...
Could never have used the D100 to do this... the X-Sync speed just isn't high enough...

Wolfus: I used Jeff's D1x to take the volleyball shots.. my SB80Dx was used as a slave flash.
