Two weeks ago I bought a 1GB Transend SD Card and it works well in the camera.
After having accumulated about 700 shots (with a balance of 100+ shots) in the camera, I tried to download the images into the computer (both PC and Mac) and both shows that there are only 500+ images in the SD card. Even though the camera has 700+ shots. Does anyone has similiar experience or advises on what should I do to get back the other images that remains invisible in the computer but can still be view in the camera? Many Thanks. Drats...should have format it in the camera but did not as it was working well. |

It shouldn't be invisible to the computer. Check to see if there are any hidden files/folders. Quite unlikely though.
Use a image receovery software to retrieve your files. Lexar Image Rescue 2 is a good one to try. Until you have retrieved the lost photos from the SD card, DO NOT: - take anymore photos with that card - format the card |

Yes. the folder shows only the 500+ images. Also after transferring the 500+ to the computer, about 50% of the images cannot be open!
![]() It says "Couldn’t open the file. It may be corrupt or a file format that Preview doesn’t recognize." Even though I can see them on the camera mornitor. |

Just wondering, if I delete 200+ images from the camera, will the remaining missing image shows up when I try to download again? ![]() |

and btw the way you mean "with a balance of 100+ shots" is in camera built-in memory?_? if thats the case, of cos those images will not show up when you look thru your SD card. Last edited by ExplorerZ; 31st October 2006 at 05:31 PM. |

Found out the cause of the missing files. It turns out to be the card reader.
Was at Transend this morning and when tried with their card reader it works fine. Thanks to the guy at Transend @ Funan for being so helpful and also thanks to you guys for your comments and advises. Cheerios. |
