Recommend a travel AA charger?

Can anyone recommend a compact travel charger for AA batteries? I was using the Sanyo refresh (red box) charger for less than a year but now it doesn't seem to be charging the batteries at all.. batteries that have been charging overnight still come out flat.

The Maha cool AA charger seems nice, but I didn't realize it required a rather bulky external power supply as well.

i use a maha C401FS when i go overseas...quite compact and doubles up as a battery holder
