    With the rice in the shaker, the rice helps to disperse the salt.

    I would not dispute that rice may absorb some moisture. I am saying that it is not significant.

    I no need to try because I know what will happen .

    Sidetrack a bit... trivia: do you know that some processed salt contains silica as anti-caking agent...

    Why take risk on your expensive equipment? Buy a dry cabinet and solve all your problems.

    er, the rice is to make sure the salt doesn't form into clumps to make it easier to come out of the shaker. Don't think it serves the pupose of absorbing moisture.
