Default Slik Sprint Pro for Nikon D50?

Hey guys,

Hope to seek some advice...considering getting the slik sprint pro for a nikon d50 with lens...is it adequate?

For me, weight of the tripod is an issue, and bugetwise hopefully not more than $150.

I dun expect to mount any lens more than 1kg on the d50...at most maybe a 700g lens with an sb600.

Might be doing some vertical/portrait shots...would this post a problem?

If the slik sprint pro is not stable enough, any other recommendations with my budget?

Thanks!!

i highly doubt it is stable enough if you were to mount something like a 17-55 which is around 700g as well... try increasing your budget, and consider the slik 330dx or 340dx. both are within your budget but it comes with pan-tilt head instead of ballhead like the sprint pro.

Up you budget a bit and get a Manfrotto 190B + 486R2....It's going at $190 at CP

GOt myself a 330DX for D50. I thought its really quite a stable tripod. Plus its not really heavy.

the slik sprint pro is good enough. cheap and good. just change the ball head and you are good to go!!! save your money on other things.

I am using Slik sprint mini for D70s. Enough for my need, light, sturdy. I think Slik Sprint pro for D50 is enough for your need too. Unless like other mention of heavy lens.

Regards,
Arto.

Im using the sprint pro with the giottos mh-1002 ball head... so far for horizonal orientation, its pefectly alright but when it comes to vertical i'd have to use the 300/330dx pan and tilt head instead...

maybe you wanna try mounting 17-55 or lens about that weight...
You will feel that the whole camera seems to be be falling forward.
