Hi would like to check does anyone develope Delta 3200 @ 3200? If so wat would be ur preferred developer. Read on some of the forums that DDX is the prefered developer? What are ur opinions?
Also thinking of TRIX @ 3200 too. |

Hi, I have tried developing delta 3200 in rodinal. The grains are pretty obvious under the loupe (but i guess in normal for ISO3200). Tried once in microdol-X. Results are similar in my opnion. The one that is developed in rodinal has a higher contrast. I heard that DDX is a fine grain developer, so you can try. |

Anyway to update i develope my roll of Delta 3200 exposed at 6400 in DDX for 11 mins at 22C. Looks fine, grain acceptable, probably will try my next roll with rodinal and see how.
Below my shot at the Esplanade during last weekends Mosaic Jam. Scanned using a Epson 1660 flatbed. Grain looks ok. ![]() |

Don't expect grain to be as fine as DDX if you develop it in Rodinal. Tones look good to me, DDX is really an excellent developer for pushed film!

That is good ! Grain is very acceptable, but at any rate I find film grain "pleasing", so maybe I'll try Rodinal ...

Beware - Rodinal is not designed as a push developer and you can lose a lot of shadow detail if you're pushing it hard. Delta 3200 is actually a ISO1000 film, so pushing it to 6400 and souped in Rodinal can leave featureless shadows.
Lay off the high dilutions. Lower dilutions are a lot better when pushing. |
