Smile Need help in SB800 as Master and SB600 as slave

Hi I used sb800 as master ( M 1/64, fully charge battery ) and SB600 as slave ( M 1/64 , fully charge battery). Once I fired the SB800 , there is a delay 1-1.5 sec before the SB600 fired. Brothers, please comment and help how to imrpove the delay. With such delay , there is no way we can do CLS right? Thanks.

adjust your IR sensor in the coverage range to improve it.

YMMV

Uh? Is there a red eye reduction on SB800? Even if there is, when you use the remote function, it should be automatically be disabled.

Which body are you using? If your body has cls function, then can test using the camera as a master and the SB800 and SB600 as slaves. If they are ok, then it must be something wrong with the SB800 as master and you might need to send it in.

What shutter speed are you using? Also make sure your body is not set to 2nd curtain sync.

rear curtain sync you mean.

can always press the test button of the flash to verify.

YMMV

Do you mean fired SB800 by pressing flash button? Or by pressing camera shutter release button?

If you put SB800 on Camera and SB600 anywhere (say hold by your friend), there is should no delay between SB800 and SB600 as long as you set SB800 as master and SB600 as slave (with the correct flash group and channel).

Regards,
Arto.
