Default Photos brightness in LCD vs CRT

I've got this problem. Photos viewed on my CRT monitor seems darker compared to my laptop. So if I were to adjust the brightness on my CRT monitor, it may be over-exposed when viewed on a LCD. Is this a characteristic of the monitor types? Anyone faced this issue? Both LCD and CRT have their brightness tuned to the max.

Profiling both screens may help.
