the ant looks intimidating enough

as the spider, maybe your shutter could have been faster to capture the fangs in a stationary position?

did you have more time with the spider? if you have a opportunity, maybe some sort of transcluscent diffusion material to 'tone down' the lighting effect (the effect is nice, but too much in this case)

superb pix....wif gr8 lighting to provide that 3d kind of feel. can even see the hairs on the spider. the ant sure looks kinda fierce too...btw wat did you use to take these pix?

denizenx, isomers007: It's E4500. The spider's pic was heavily
cropped (about 40%), and minimum crop on the Ant (10%).

erwinx: thanks for the idea. will give it a try
