Hi All,
I am thinking of selling my 14-54mm to fund the 7-14mm. BUT before I do something silly like that, what would be a better replacement for the 14-54mm down the road? Thanks in advance ![]() Last edited by VR Man; 28th October 2006 at 05:20 AM. Reason: typo |

yupzz.. it will be the 14-35mm f2. But the 14-54mm's focal range is longer as compared to 14-35mm. The 14-35mm will also be expensive so think thrice before you sell it.

It won't replaced by 7-14 due to different focal length but complement for the whole zoom range (7-14, 14-54 and 50-200) Any thought for 11-22 ? Some of my friends mentioned this lens is awesome ! |

11~22 is one good glass but the distortion at 11 may not be what you really want. It is definately not a replacement for the 14~54. If you say replacing the 14~45 with a 14~54 than by all means.
P.S. if you are selling it, please inform blu here. Don't mind replacing the 14~45 with it. ![]()

Thank you all for your kind feedack
After checking the current SRP for the 14-54, about $750, I realized that by selling it I cant raise much for the 7-14. So I have decided to keep this gem afterall. I could use either the 11-22 or 7-14 for my work but the 7-14 gives me a better workflow due to less images used in post processing. However the 11-22 is 2 stops faster and that could be useful in certain situations ![]() |

Noticed once that someone tried to sell his 2-year-old++ 14-54mm here for S$600 and there was actually a buyer... resale value seems to be very good.

I am considering selling the spare 14-54 and placing a pre-order for the 14-50. But I am a little worried about whether is it that much of a difference in picture quality, (since ZD makes high specs optics already). I saw it today at the shop, and honestly, the additional OIS function on the lens makes me a little uncomfortable. I am probably from the older school of photography and all these extra bells and whistles only make me worry whether this means more components, more costly it is to maintain and fix if something were to happen to it. (I accepted the fact long time ago that accidents happen).

Thanks for sharing this thought. I think I will keep the 14-54 and forget the Leica for the moment.
