I like #1 most. But I think the subject, the butterfly has been overwhelmed by the background.
I think if the picture is cropped, it might work better? Also, I think Portriat will work better in the sense that the perch seems to be coming from nowhere...should be from ground? Thanks for sharing! Regards, tltan |

Composition wise, #2 is the best
Nicely balanced, and feels that it has the 'right' proportion. #1 BG is too big. #3 is ok but prefer side or a front shot.

Thks for the comments, much appreciated. Guess only no.2 works. No.3 is indeed boring, dunno why I post this angled shot.
Personally, I like the 1st one. It looked good thru the viewfinder as a landscape pic when I zoomed out. And so I tried to be arty farty by infusing landscape into macro Guess it doesn't work. Perhaps if the purple flowers are not so eye-catching, would be better? As for portrait orientation, I tried, but not so good, as the stem is too slanted and far away from the butt. |

#1, could be the purple flowers, or could be the proportions. How abt a vertical portrait of the above pic, crop from right to left till slightly more than the wing, w/o touching the next purple flower....and remove your signature....and see how it looks...

#2 is nice. #1 and #3 are bit odd to me.

As advised, I've re-composed the 1st pic and smudge away the purple flower near the left frame. Also added some other close-ups, but unfortunately, suffered from wrong focussing and handshake.
![]() ![]() ![]() A similar posture to pic.2 but I find the attennae look better. ![]() Thks for viewing and ur inputs ... |

#2 works the best here. For #1, Background is wayyy too distracting and clashes with the subject i.e the butterfly. #3 - something just not right abt the composition, can't put my finger on it though, perhaps a rotate image 90 degree clockwise might work?

Thks for the input, perhaps pic no.3 looks unsettling in a sense that the butt is falling off? Anyway, I give up on that pic already ![]() |

Hope you don't mind me editing your pic. What I meant was this:
![]() Pardon me for the quick job...had to roughly clone your signature away. Personally feel its more balanced.

Thanks! Here's an uncropped of the whole scene, perhaps I used too much dof and caused the BG to stand out too much. ![]() PIC INFO: ISO 200 at 1/200s, F10 at 140mm approx 1.5m away |
