Only person I know with an L1 is meow meow...
Digilux 3? Long shot on that one, don't think many of us here would stick out $500 more for five letters and a red dot...

All I can say is that it is just too complicated to come to any simple conclusion on which camera produces the better picture quality. Any comparison would be complicated by the different image processing chips and algorithms used, the lenses used, the RAW converters used, and the camera hardware itself.
We may be able to keep the lens the same, use the same RAW converter at the same defaulted camera settings (or else shoot in jpeg) but the picture quality will still be affected by the inbuilt image processing chip (TruePix Turbo or Venus Engine III) and the camera hardware themselves. The safest answer is that there will definitely be differences but it would still be subjective depending on individual tastes as to which camera produces the better picture quality. There is still no perfect camera and each of these cameras would bring its own set of pros and cons to the table. I could say which camera I like better for a particular shooting scenario but that opinion might not be shared by others who have a different shooting preference from mine. ![]()
