Default which tripod to recommend for a new starter using D80..

Hi.. is there any tripot to recommend with the head..both new or 2nd hand.. that would only put me back around $120?

The key factors would be
1) what and where you will be shooting?
2) Do you use remote control?
3) What kind of lense you will be using?

day/night landscape...probably getting a remote as well.

May i know what is the difference?

For day landscape, you wont need a tripod most of the time, unless you want to be inside .
If you shooting outdoor and are mobile most of the time, you will want a lighter tripod to move around. If you are shooting with heavy lenses such as 400mm, you will want something very strong and stable.

It will be easier to work about once you know what you need. I am not sure of the prices, but Slik seems to be a popular choice to budget tripod.
