Spider ID not too sure, but its in the Jumping spider family. Looks like it ate another!

DOF and focus is fine. The eyes are sharp.

Lighting wise, its kind of harsh...the shadows casted are harsh. Did you diffuse the flash? And I am not sure why the right side has some strong shadows. The 2nd flash could have fill in at that area.

yeahz.. both flashes are diffused. datz e prob.. sometimes only one flash fires. e other one on e left (on a bracket) fires but quite weakly.. note: e pic. was rotated 180degrees. so e flash on e right fired.. datz y e lightin was kind of harsh. thanks for pointin out neways.. was inspired by ur shots of punggol park so went dere today. was sad to say, only puny ones can be found except tis..

here's another spider to share.. ID unknown as well. was tack small.. less den 1cm long. image cropped..
exif data: f13, 1/100s, ISO 100.

I have the same slave flash.

Its the flash sensor that is giving problem. It reads too much light from the other flash, or it is reading too much of its own flash and cuts off the power.

What I do is to use a white electrical insulating tape (abt 4-5 layers) to cover the flash sensor (small hole on top of the red part) to increase the power. For full power, use a black tape. That should solve your problem.
