I own a EX-Z500 Exilim camera. It was working fine for quite awhile until recently where it wouldn't start up after no usage for about two to three weeks.
What happened was that on pressing the power button, the lens extends, then nothing happens. Hitting the power button after that has no effect. I've tried charging it, overnight too. The problem is the "charge" light is forever red, and when I press the power button again, the light goes off, and nothing happens to the camera. Has anybody experienced this/can give me help? |

Prolonged period of storage can drain your batteries and the effect is damaging. |

I tried charging for a full day.
The light never turned green. When attempting to power up/down, the charger light disappeared. I dunno what's wrong. It's been largely cranky, this camera. The CCD sports evenly-spaced horizontal lines across every shot. And now this. Furthermore, after warranty JUST ended. |

Just come back from CASIO service centre to get my z1000 troubleshooted today. also got startup problem but in different nature. mine is that the camera refuses to save all the settings e.g. time, date, etc and so it will prompt me for input every time i on the camera. maybe u can call the service centre at 62971312. Their address is 150 Beach Road, #04-06, The Gateway West Singapore 189270. They open Mon-Fri (0900 - 1730) and they are closed during lunch time (1200-1330hrs). Hope this info is useful to you. Maybe it is a firmware problem. Stay cool
