Default First post here =) about the new Apple Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo....

Might as well be the first to make a post
A post about a brand new product too.

Apple Macbook Pro Intel Core 2 Duo

These notebooks are getting so powerful (memory and speed intensive) that you could start making videos on the go (without the sluggishness to it).
Kudos to Apple

You already could do so reasonably fast, before this! Wonder how just how much faster a core 2 duo will make it, though. Still stuck (and happy) with a G4 powerbook.

http://www.apple.com/pro/profiles/arnot/ - this guy made a great documentary in darfur just with his powerbook g4

actually, if your video editing does not involves lots of transitional/stacking of effects any notebook/pc with 2GB ram will be smooth.

I have even done editing on my acer (2GB ram, single core) with a USB2 external hdd. Video is abt 30mins long with rel simple transitional effects and color edit, rendering is less than 1hr.

than again...there is nothing as too fast or too good in this world.

I think this notebook is good for Wedding Video Summary ready for the showing during the dinner. Provided, you are using Firestore. Strongly applicable only to SD, not HDV

With the upgraded specs, the macbook really makes every cent you spend worth...But I'm just concerned if these faster chips enclosed in the similar 1 inch thin casing would cause more overheating complains...as with the recently upgraded macbook pros that run at 2.4ghz (that's crazy).

Well, still happy with my iBook, just that my hard disk is almost full... -_-
