Hi all
I've got 2 cameras in mind... Canan IXUS 850IS CANON IXUS 65 From the specifications it is a clearcut that 850IS is a better buy. But it kinda cost alot more compared to the IXUS 65. 1)i would like to know from all u PHOGRAPHER GURUS out there, is the IMAGE STABLIZER really all that important? 2)do u have any idea what the battery life of these 2 cameras are? Thanks in advance for responding.\ 3) oh yeah, just one last thing, Read on asia.cnet.com review , they claim that there isnt a battery indicator on CANON IXUS 850IS... IS that true? Not considering 800IS? Price has dropped since 850IS came out.
But anw, on whether you need IS, it depends on you. Generally it's a good-to-have feature though, I wish I had it on my A540. Do read up on good cam review sites, cnet is ok only. Here are some: http://www.dpreview.com/ http://www.dcresource.com/ http://www.imaging-resource.com/ I hope I helped! =D |

ya the reviewer was right leh...no battery indicator for most canon PnS....it would only show low battery when it going low but not the whole battery life....

Is weird, Canon usually performs better overall in terms of noise at higher ISO levels, of course no one can compete with Fujifilm.. =D
For me, I don't care about battery indicator because I always bring spares - my cam uses AA. You can always buy a spare battery - sometimes the shops bundle it with one more! =) No problemo, really. I don't think battery indicator should ever be an issue, unless you're talking about VERY POOR battery life. |

Yeah, I noticed most Canon P&S-s have a two-step battery indicator. Functional, and low battery. Functional is basically how it will stay, from full charge to just above low battery.
