Adding 5% GST (if you are a local) brings it back up to $1100 or therabouts, which means that there isn't much of a difference to the old prices. If anything it may be the fluctuation in the Japanese yen that has caused the difference.

L lens has very good optics that has better coating, better colour and contrast. In my opinion, sharpness too.

could someone show me a example of the difference?
I heard and readed a lot but still could not tell the difference if a photo is taken with a L len or not. |

If you take a crappy photo with an 'L' lens, its still a crappy photo. If its a good photo, its a good photo. Bottom line is, don't let the lens/camera limit your imagination/creativity.

with Photoshop being used more often thesedays, its almost impossible to tell without looking at the exif, whether the lens used to shoot that photo is L or not.
