    Default why so grainy?

    Hi, I have shot a couple of rolls of fuji negatives, and scanned them with 16base resolution.. The pictures turned out 'grainy' I thought it should be quite smooth? Please, anyone enlighten me on this.. Thanks and have a nice day!

    Your scan might be suffering from a phenomena called 'grain aliasing' which is the interaction between the film's grain and scanner's scan resolution. That's about all I know about it and you can get the nitty gritties about it here:
