Nice series! Impressed with these natural light low shutter speed shots. Handheld or tripod? If handheld, the supershot must be really super!

Thanks ryuggen. This was outside my house, just happen to walk past and notice a dead plant branch shaking wildly....... actually nothing shake, just notice a dark patch on the branch and motionless, quickly get my gear then.

Thanks tchuanye. It's tripod mounted with 2 seconds delay with mirror lockup. The "SSS" if used handheld for macro will need to use flash.

This shot is handheld with flash...

Didn't time them lah but based on memory from the time I spot them till they fly off around 20 minutes. Best thing is after I went back to my home to get the tube extender, they are at a different branch, wonder how did they manage to do that.

No closeup filter, taken with the Tamron 180mm macro + 20mm extension tube to get slightly closer focus distance.

Just use what you have and eventually if you decide to go into macro, buy a macro lens. If you have extension tube can use those with your existing lens as well.
