Default External HD Help.

Hi, need advise, hope can get some tips here.
I had an externak hard drive. Those usb type, mainly use as for storage of my photos.
nowadays this happens......when i connect my E-HD to my pc, it takes very long time to detack it or sometimes my pc can't even recognise it.

....ok, point #1 ....so is my pc problem eh.....by others external devises seems to have no problem when plugged into my pc.

....ok, point #2 .....so is my external HD probelm eh.....but when i plugged into other pc, eg, my laptop, other pc in my office, my brother's pc.....ok leh......

hmm.....how should i go about from here?.............

Do you plug it into the front USB ports? I had this problem and the shop owners say to use the back USB ports because the front ones are just from a hub and thus does not provide enough power for the HDD. The back ones they say are connected straight to the motherboard and thus provide dedicated power for the drive.
