nice take, maybe get the perspectival distortion corrected and it'll look even better?

I feel that the contrast is flat and a tighter crop would be better. After all your main subject is the cyclist right.

Hi All,

Thanks for the advice, I've much to learn.

The picture above was taken at f/4 to localize on the cyclist. The original picture was much more vibrant, which I felt takes the attention away from the peddler who is framed by the yellow painted shophouse. The picture was not enhanced in anyway, it was just desaturated in RawShooter.

By the way, it was shot using my Tokina 12-24 f4 on a Rebel XT, hence the apparent distortion.... not a good idea i suppose?

Kind Regards,
Louis

I was actually trying out my Tokina 12-24 for some real street photography. I was deciding which lens to bring on a forthcoming trip to Vancouver (deciding between the Canon 17-40L or Tokina 12-24). However while the distortion on the Tokina is intended, due to the sheer wide angle shots, the distortion might be misread as a flaw...

would it mean that the Canon 17-40 L makes a better travel lens? Cos the distortion is less apparent due to less wide angle.
