Spent 1.5hrs this time.....less subjects than the half hr shoot I had...so had to look for smaller things to take....and what else more common than ants! and of course other insects like the long legged fly and the tiny small beetle!
FZ10+Raynox 250, F8, 1/60s, ISO50, 2 diffused flash #1: Hairy ant ![]() #2: Top view...see the spike! ![]() #3: Another type of ant taking a sip....from a small cluster of flowers ![]() #4: My Reservoir ![]() #5: Little Beetle Not a great photo, but finally manage to take this tiny fella~2-3mm which I often seen but not ablt to take ![]()

For the fly do you have problem using flash on them. Have tried various time on this type of fly, they seems to move everytime the flash is fired.

Hi, I got a question. is it better to use a raynox marco converter or a reverse lens mount to capture marco shoots?

You are right...at every flash, the fly change position.....good thing is that they change position around the same place (or there about)...so have to re-compose and shoot every shot...I have to make sure it appear sharpest before depressing shutter. So its a question of what mag rates you want....but higher mag rates, lower DOF. For me, its very difficult to use reverse on my x12 FZ10, as it is extremely shallow. But on my A610 at x4, its good to use.
