Hi
Which of the above two is better in storing photos on the go? I understand they are both very different devices but both can store photos. What are your views taking into all factors into consideration? Cheers |

For the purpose of photo storage, the Epson is the way to go. You will need to get an accessory for the ipod to enable it to interface with storage cards. ANd knowing ipod accessories, you know that is going to set you back more than a hundred bucks more. |

PS2000 (40G) is selling at 850 at CP. Ipod 30 G is less than 500 plus the "coolness" of this little Apple. Even with extra accessories, it is still cheaper than PS2000.Sure P2000 has slots for CF and SD cards. But than P2000 has bigger screen (3.8") vis as vis Ipod 2.5...

The iPod 30GB is now retailing at $428 ($598 for the 80GB model). The iPod Camera Connector (to allow transfer between camera and iPod using PTP) is retailing for $54. Both prices can be obtained from www.apple.com.sg/store. Total cost is $482 (or $652 with 80GB model).
Cheers Kelvin

The P2000 is still $850? I saw the P2500 in Japan for less than $600 I think...
I got the brochure for the P5000 and I think it LOOKS really good. The P5000 can even read my s3pro raw files. Supposedly with a much faster processor. Best of all it can read Adobe RGB photos and display them with the correct colors. Released in Nov 2006. I used to own an epson P2000 b4 I sold it. I have an ipod video 60G. If you want to just store pictures, then the ipod video MAY work but the harddisk is slow. If you want to review the pictures, then it is no fight. Epson is the way to go. The screen is simply remarkable. The P2000 has a problem with viewing full res RAW pictures thought. It only reads the embeded low res Jpeg in the RAW file. Heh..I'm having a similiar dilemma too but it's between the Creative Zen Vision W and the Epson P2000.
Anyway, I prefer the Creative to the Epson. The Epson is too heavy and bulky for my liking plus I could feel/hear the harddisk spinning in my while holding it in my hand. |

I've had a bad experience with Epson P2000. I lost 2000 plus photos on a 'holiday of a life time'.
Just wanted to let you know as I regret buying it! However, I don't want to put you off - my bad experience might not be yours |

The Epson P2000 at the last PC show was selling at $600 plus at the Epson booth.
If you are using a PSD and travelling, the saying two is one and one is none goes. I usually carry a NextoCF and an Epson P2000. There are many people in other forum having the exprience of losing photos with the Epson P2000. Yes, the Epson P2000 is very heavy compared to the NextoCF. HTH. |
