What are the qualifications and equipment requirements to be one?
this one not photography? or are you referring to AD?Gown/suit & Studio shoot - Jazreel Collections
Thank you Susan from Jazreel Collections for providing a wedding package for our couple that includes the gown and suit plus a studio photoshoot! Here are some of the services they provide.
Susan tells us that the gown will be couture, which means it will be made-to-measure to best fit the bride, which you won't get with off-the-rack pieces. This will call for an initial consultation, followed by a series of fittings, before the final gown is ready. Other than fit, there are other benefits to couture, such as how it opens a world of design, from the fabrics to colours and trims. It also boasts much better quality and workmanship than an off-the-rack gown, which can be sewn in one quarter the time of a couture one.
If you have ever asked yourself why women pay so much for a dress they will only wear once in their life, Maria McBride has the answer in her book The Wedding Dress. Apparently, while the tradition has always been for brides to wear white, over the years, brides around the world came to adorn a special dress on their wedding which is meant to be worn only once - as a hallmark of the significance of the event. That's what makes it special.

for wedding couples, mostly two kinds of photography needed.
the first one, is the portraits of the newly wed couple, mostly done by the bridal studio, also known as "studio photos", "pre wedding photos" or "bridal portraits".
another one is the wedding day event coverage, mostly done by friends of the wedding couple, part-timers, freelancers or some professionals, this also known as "outdoor photos" (a very old term which is very long before your time", "actual day photos", or "wedding day photos".
i'm ill informed on this..
but why are they offering their services for free?
is there something abt the couple that i failed to read up on?
You'll Never Walk Alone! - i have the best job in the world!
To companies like these, they can afford to throw. Such money which they can earn back a lot more is considered 'cheap' for publicity.
For cheap photographers who think, "Aiyah, put my name in only. Why not? No nit to pay plus I get FREE publicity!" go and think again, this 'free publicity' comes with a heavy pricetag on ur reputation if u fail to deliver to the highest standards. Sponsors are not called 'sponsors' for nothing btw.
Damned if u do, damned if u don't.
For those who probably are too new or too shallow in the head to understand and are perhaps so pissed with my choice of earlier words, suggest u cool off and think thru it again.
"Wonders of the Human Mind. Unfathomable to the highest degree."
For this case, those offering their services may gain back in advertisements? not sure if they organizers allowed that, but worth a shot?
Anyway, it's a high exposure profile wedding.
