Tried them. For that price, you really could get much much better earplugs.

Like the Shure e2c, or Weston UM-1s. Or even the Ultimate Ears sf3.

With that price? Get a pair of Sony earplugs (like $90?) or even Panasonic earplugs (like $60?), Shure E2C retails apprx abt the same price.

Okay, if you want a bit more of a technical review about the Aurvana —

The Zen Aurvana earplugs sound very good on paper. In-ear. Supposedly more comfy than other IEMs. Dual-driver!

(Ok this is me goign off on a tangent altogether) But my longstanding problem with Creative's audio products (and this is someone who has a junkyard drawer for Creative mp3 players and cards): iti sounds artificially boosted. Go listen to their players using "EAX". Or some of their other sound products. It sounds good to the untrained ear, but really it's just like... shooting at ISO1600 all the time.

On their earphones, for its price we really should be expecting much more. Yet the dual-driver doesn't deliver. You could get better bass from Sony earphones a third of the price. The mids are... MURKY. The highs are kind of shrill. It's not that I can't-stand-a-moment-of-it kind of bad; just no thank you, for $170, I'll give my money to Weston or Ultimate Ears instead.

I recommend you go down to Jaben at Adelphi. Go spend some time to listen to the earphones available. I'm sure you'll find something you like a lot, if you were even considering forking out that much for the Aurvanas.
