A few shots of a local bushfire a week last Sunday. As luck would have it the fire was more or less under control by the time I got to it. According to the Police on duty it had taken around 45 minutes to claim some 40 acres of bushland and was almost certainly deliberatly lit by a fire bug.
![]() A flare up in a gully just after I arrived on the scene. As with all but the last shot in this sequence I was faced with shooting almost in to the sun to get the shot. An predominantlyEasterly wind with sudden Westerly reversals was gusting at around 35km/h when this shot was made. The flames intensify in the gully ... The bushes are due west of where I was.

For what seemed like an eternity not much seemed to really happen ..... Then in a matter of a couple of seconds it went up in a raging inferno.....

A north facing view of the smoke and closed road, complete with fire tender heading up the hill to refill it's water tanks. ![]() The day after the fire. Partial remains of the fence surrounding part of the nature reserve on it's south westerly side.
