Hi, now I'm choosing between KM 7D and Canon 20D...wat I liked abt 7D is the external buttons that allows you to swiftly set to the right settings....but read in many forums saying that 7D has alot of focusing issues (front focus) and unable to take weddings and sports....flash also wash out all the pics.....as for 20D the only complain ppl have is ERR99...so would like to hear the KM7D users here on what they feel about the flash and focusing issues on 7D b4 I jumped into it.
THank you. |

I have used my 7D with bounce flash (3600) to shoot my sister's wedding and the pictures turn out very sharp and good. I wasn't even using a 50mm lens that time and was using the kit lens for the 5D only. I must say that the 7D is one hell of a camera and definitely one of the best in its class. But getting one now may be a problem. Good luck.

I use 7D shooting weddings day in day out... so this thing is not true... Unable to take sport??? My friends who are sport photographer still in business using this camera?? guess I think the comment is not right either?? Backfocusing is thing in the past (mostly on first batch of the camera)... Flash problem?? I don't think so too... Anyway, if you know your gear well enough, it is basically the photographer's job to deliver... Don't blame the gear if one can't do a good job. Love 7D also mostly on its AS as well as external control. Good luck... If you choose 7D or 20D, they are both very competent DSLR... its all come down to which camp you want to go... Hart |

you know, this thread brings back old memories of me posting in canon and km forums like "what you hate about 7D?", "What you hate about 20D?"
anyway, here are my two historical threads. hope it might help a bit. Was having the exact same dillemma over 7D or 20D. What you hate about the 20D? What you hate about 7D? btw, can i know whether you are a prime person or zoom person? it would help slightly in deciding which one is better for you. |

But if you had laid your hands on any camera with a weaker control, you are stuck with it whenever you hold it... so go manhandle both camera and see for yourself! In terms of control, I would say 7D's ultimate |

but minolta's primes are just amazing. they are cheaper when compared to canon, some even better when compare to canon, and also, they look cuter when comapred to canon . though some might argue that they are hard to find, i think they are just harder to find rather than impossible to find(of course, with the exceptions of some really really rare lens). |

...well...I really love the external controls of 7D as I do alot of event shots...prize presentation on stage and sports...well the other forumers mentioned that the wedding shots are washed out by its built-in flash and flash inconsistency...and what is being said here is true...if thats the case..then use an external and bounce ....btw...so if there's anything wrong or need any cleaning can juz go to the sony rite? or the KMSC is still ard? |

B&S now got 1 selling for 1k, nick is Ratboy...
the funny thing about minolta stuff is, things actually appreciate in price.. something like Rolex... haha... imagine i bought my VC-7D when 7D was out, its about 350, imagine the price now is 600... unbelieveable... then Lenses now also start to appreciate due to Sony's pricing strategy...
