Hi all. Had narrow down my choice to Canon Ixus 800IS and Fuji F30 but that day when I went down to a shop, I found a problem when comparing this 2 side by side.
Under the shop lighting, I found that the lcd of F30 tend to flicker though the photos taken are sharp and beautiful. Ixus 800IS screen is always stable without flickering and looks nicer than the F30. Is there a common problem with F30 or it's just the set itself ? Thanks for reply. ![]() |

It's not a problem at all. Due to different refreshing frequencies of F30's LCD and the florescent lights in the shop, you get flickers, but it shouldn't pose a problem for the final product.

Thanks !
So I can assume that most of the F30 faces this problem under fluorescent light ? Flickering LCD a bit annoying while framing .... ![]() |

There is a setting for LCD's refresh rate. Set it to higher (60fps?) and the "frequency" effects will be reduced.
This is not a problem at all, and the "effect" appears in many kinds of displays under different lightings. Just that some refresh rates are more closer to the frequency of the lightings. Also, if you film a video of a CRT monitor or TV, the monitor/TV will also appears to be "flickering". |

I'm not sure if F30 is similar to the F11.
Somehow, when I enable High-Speed Shooting mode for the F11, the screen will flicker. No flickering when in Normal Shooting mode though. |

Only when using the high-speed shooting mode will the F30 LCD flicker. Under normal use, the LCD does not flicker at all.
