The images are waaaaaay too busy for me. You need to really achieve focus for your shooting.

I agree. There is not enough focus on a single topic. For example, if you wanted to show the hustle and bustle of the night market, you could have wide shots taken at a slow speed, to leave motion trails.

If you want to show the tireless satay seller, try to focus more on him and his forehead. Beads of perspiration will help communicate the message.

As for the food, do you want to show the sizzling? You can go closer, or zoom in, to show the flames licking the food.

The carpet stall is interesting, but difficult to capture. Why not wait around for someone to rest on a carpet or maybe an old lady looking through a heap of patterns?

Generally, your shots should try to bring the viewer's eyes on 1 or 2 subjects, ie. Lady + Carpet. Right now, it's too much. For example in photo #5, you have: Lady + Cutting something + 2 types of food + Styrofoam boxes + 2 people at the back.

Try to play with the depth of focus by adjusting aperture.

Thanks for the comments. The pictures were however hastily taken, as the crowd was almost squeezing. I was mainly taking shots of my friends. These are rather 'side' shots.

I like the carpet, handbag, and food stall shots, the colors work for me. You probably need more time to capture the right moments, which is not easy if your mind is on your friends
