Newbie question here...
Read in dpreview forum that some one could use SB26 on his E300 altho didn't quite get his set-up. Anyone has tried it? Thanks. |

SB-28 or SB-26?
Not that it really matters...you can ONLY use this flash in manual or auto modes on the E-1, NOT TTL...the TTL "languages" that Nikon and Olympus use are not compatible (that also goes for film and digital TTL languages for both Nikon and Olympus). Personally though I'd worry about the TTL pins doing damge to the camera. The only thing is you have to is adjust the camera to the chart on the back of the flash, and you are limited to that...unlike a TTL flash that will adjust to what the camera is set to. |

I use my SB28DX on my E-1 as a manual flash unit before I bought the FL-50. You don't have to worry about the flash burning up your E-1. It doesn't.

I think you will only be able to use the manual mode(and auto maybe). I actually want ed to buy a Nikon 2nd hand flash from a friend but he said that there would be no auto mode.
By the way, anothere newbie question, what's the difference between TTL auto and auto? |

Yes you can use the SB28DX in auto mode and its quite accurate actually. The SB28DX is still a competent flash unit.

Nikon flash work great under automatic modes and give very accurate exposures. I got a SB28 as backup (good and cheap
) for my Canon body too. |
