Default Holga lens on DSLR trail.

I found some instruction on the net about using Holga's lens on DSLR, so I tried. Here's some test shot, done with a EOS 5D and a modified Infrared-capable 300D. Vignette is created by drilling a hole on the lens cap, trial and error on cardboard until I got what I like, then i drill the cap.

Looks pretty Holga to me, except for light leaks. Still have not figure a way to do that.

For those interested, Holgamod.com are selling these mod lenses for both Canon and Nikon. For those more aventurous ones, do a search on EOS Holga, should be able to locate it.

Enjoy!

have u tried shooting in colour? pic looks a bit too sharp and smooth to be lomo-ish IMHO. perhaps reducing the sharpness settings and shooting at max iso (for max "grain") might help?

The first one is in colour. I didn't do any PP, just as it is out of the camera. At first, its all blurry, so I modified the lens so I can focus...ha ha...over done it liao... Here's a sample before I modify the lens:

Thanks for your advice. Here's what it looked like after running a lomo x-process action I found on the net.

ah...that's better....but now the vignetting is a bit overdone. can cut that down by half and i think it's pretty close to a lomo shot.

Hmmm...maybe I'll cut the hole on the lens cap bigger....

Will post new pix after tomorrow's IR outing...

Trying to start a Lomo usergroup forum here, doing a poll sort of thread at the feedback column. Do show your support so Lomo fans can have their own forum here!

Also, so I can learn more....he he...

Here's what I've done today after fixing the vignette comment by Zaren.
