Exclamation LIMITED OFFER: Nikonians.org Limited Edition Op/Tech Pro Strap

THIS OFFER HAS ENDED
Due to the overwhelming respond and limited quantity available to us, I have to end this exercise right now.

Thank you everyone for the resounding support and a BIG thanks to Darrell/Bo of Nikonians.org for their effort!
*************************************
Hi everyone!

For those of you who had visited www.nikonians.org, they have been offering some highly sorted Limited Edition Nikonians.org/OpTech Pro straps (as shown below). Sadly, this is only open for the USA/Canada and the EU. After several emails with the person-in-charge (Darrel), he had decided to open up a little offer for Nikonians in Singapore to buy the straps at a special price that is complete with shipping. However, due to the limited availability and demand they have in the USA, he is only able to commit 5 pieces to us for now.

Here's a picture of how the strap look like :

This is a special limited edition Op/Tech USA Pro camera strap that comes with extra padding and 3/8" webbing connectors adjustable from 28-1/2" to 56-1/2" (easy release).

The plain Op/Tech version of this strap is selling in CP for about S$27-29.00, this is without any extra markings and from what I understand, the Nikonian.org's ones are of better quality.

The price for the whole package (5 straps) including shipping will be about US$29.95 x 4 (yes, x 4) or US$119.80, this is because they will be throwing in one more strap in as a goodwill gesture to us, thus lowering the price per strap.

Basing approximately on US$1 to S$1.8 :
Total package cost - US$119.80 will be about S$216.00
Price of each strap - S$43.20 (approximate price before our local GST, if any)

The price per strap will be clearly higher than the one you can find in Singapore but for the sake of being a Limited Edition item and (possibly) better quality, I feel it is a good (albeit a little expensive) buy if you can justify it. (ie. not for the bargain hunter) ;P

I will be coordinating the offer to anyone who is interested, please leave your name/nick and contact number (if not here, please PM me the number) in the following list :

Expensive and very pointless. The difference in quality will probably be in the wordings, which makes no difference to me, as long as the strap works.

Yup, no doubt about it but that's just your POV Lee

Limited edition stuffs do have their purpose, as with many other collector's items. I do not know if anyone else will be interested here but anyway, I don't want avid CSers to miss this offer. Btw, according to someone I know, it is of better quality than the Pro Strap we find in Singapore.

Then do enlighten me in what way is it better in quality? My strap is already more than 1 year old and it still serves me well.

Dun mind me as i am new here. I feel that you have already given your point of view, whether if the other person agrees with it or not is up to the other person.

You already voiced your opinion saying that it is a waste of money and will do no better good than the strap that can be gotten in SG.

Why do you still need to carry it further?

Regards.

Simply because it appears the quality improvement appears to be more than what I suspect, so I'm asking for further elaboration.

I think it is the material they used. I understand from this friend that the strap he bought (from CP) while he was in Singapore has a comparatively less tactile feel to it. He acquired the Limited Edition one a while later, and his take is it is "tougher".

Now, my gut take is this may be subjective and even if it is the case, I will just take it as a bonus. I do not know if anyone here has the same experience but for myself, it is all about giving due credit, I had gained immense knowledge from many Nikonian's sound advise, they had gone great length in assisting me and I feel this little extra is my gesture of appreciation to help them maintain their servers. Likewise with CS or HWZ, when the time comes for me to do my part of the community, I will be glad to lend a hand in whichever way I can.

Like I said, this is not a cheap-sale type of offer, it is a limited edition thingy. Some may like it, some don't Lee

That I can understand, there're a lot of people who bite for limited edition items, however the bit on the better quality strap prompted me to probe a bit.

Lee, I see

Well, like I said, quality may be subjective but as a friend, I don't doubt his words (he is just a member there, not the dev team). I do take that as a bonus for this is my way of saying thank you to them.

The strap is not open for sale outside the USA/Canada/EU (till this very moment), and they don't intend to do so anytime soon. This makes it a really special offer (effort) by Darrell himself.

It's your choice

To Tony and all who are joining the reserve list:

I had fired off another email to Darrell, hopefully they will have enough to commit another 5 to us (and if possible, extend the offer of 4+1 straps to the next batch too) I will post any update I get here in this thread when he replies.
