Default plain tiger

i know this little fella have been taken countless time. but what the heck, here's my take...

Nice composition shot u have there of the plain tiger. IMO it is abit dark.

Wonderfully taken... hmm but a little bit dark on the wings and a little bit central for my personal likings

Thanks for all the comments guys! Errmmm... i didn't use flash for this shot hence slightly dark. will retry again mabbe this sat if it doesn't rain..

Default Here's another shot.. but????




how come when flash is use, the color become more vibrant/warmer?? it there anyway to prevent this? any idea?

i prefer dis one...being it has de rite colors...imo. dof can be improved still....and dat patch of flower on the left's a bit distracting...keep on shootin

oh ... you have gotten the male plain tiger shots

what are settings used ??

as for composition , prefer to compose it veritically , more side and closer view ...

as for exposure , try to use partial spot to meter the wing of the butterfly and use flash -1 compensate with omni-bounce

hmmm.. how to tell it's gender?

Settings? if i remember correctly, shld be ISO 100, f8.0, 1/160, 1st one no flash, 2nd got flash...

thanks for the tips.. will go try again.. and of coz, do some charity donate blood to the mozzies...

the white spot on the wing can tell it is a male plain tiger butterfly

below one is the female one

try ISO 100 to 400 , f8 to f11 , 1/160sec ... depend on lighting condition
