helo guys, I've not posted here for very long time, time for you guys to take revenge hehehe
ok, the banal stuff first 1) Mamiya 7 with panoramic adapter 2) 80mm, (about 40mm in 35mm format) 3) TriX400 B/W film 4) self processed 5) scanned using Nikon CSIV actually I wasn't too happy with my photos, because.... because I forgot to engage my brain. I lost alot of photos due to basic mistakes of exposure. so... I blame myself. ok, here's my experience, I usually go at 11pm and stay all the way till morning 7am where I'm ready to faint. By then I would have been on my feet for 8 hours or so... my soles hurt... no shoes allowed in the temple. The way I take photos is through experiencing the environment and soaking up what's the place/time/event about..... pretty much my intepretation of what's happening. To me, thaipusam isn't just about the Kavadis or the piercings. From what I see, the piercing is least exciting, it is very much a celebration, prayers... offerings.. time spend together with friends and family. Those people going through the piercing will have their family and friends supporting them, I feel a sense of closenit-ness about the whole event.... Then of course there are the bits that I'm uncomfortable with.... that's when people spontaneously get into a trance.... I'll need a few seconds to regain my composure. Suprising, (or maybe not suprising seeing the economic climate) this is the whole event is slightly smaller... even the photographers turning up at the temple in the middle of the night is about 1/2 of what I saw last year. I'm sleepy, I'm tired, my eyes are blurry... so.... pardon my ramblings.......... here are the photos....... here are 10 shots... still have 3 more rolls to scan... probably forming a 20-25 shots series when I'm done editing. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Your style... pano crop. I like the way it comes across...
Your hall mark of capturing it in a different perspective, or taking it as a normal shot and then presenting it in another manner is once again, quite evident. Nice series. ![]()
