Just like to check with all Oly users here as to why Oly Prosumer DCs are not as popular as Canon S3 and Panny FZXX series. I remember when I bought my 1st DC years ago, Oly DCs was in the forerun and quite sought after.
I am thinking of getting either the SP-350 or the CP500UZ for capture of family and outings memories. DSLR can be quite cumbersome at times. Thanks. |

Simple.
XD card format. Proprietory, slow, expensive, unreliable. Apart from that, Oly's DCs are pretty good. The C7XXX and C8XXX series are still very much sought after (IMHO due to the fact that they use CF!), maybe you could try a 2nd hand purchase?

Oh yah, forgot about the XD card thing. That sure is a show stopper for some. On ebay, one could get a refurbished one at about US$180 with 90 days warranty. I think they are good buys other than the XD card thingy.

Reasons: 1. XD Card. 2. No image stabilization. 3. Less powerful zoom. 4. Movie mode.
