Default Buying a lightbox

Went to Penisular Plaza to look for a lightbox. The size I'm looking for is approximately a 12cm by 19cm.

Fotoguide is selling Kaiser brand at $75.
CP is selling Cabin brand for $95 while an unbranded Taiwan made cost $36.

Should I get the cheapest aka Taiwan made or is it better to pay for the Canin brand. Would paying 3 times more be justifiable to get a whiter light ?

Advise please.

If you want comparison, I never use the cheapest aka taiwan made one, but it is good to get the better one first time round which no need to upgrade later. You can make comparison at CP, they willing to show you.

Currently, I'm using the Cabin Light Panel CL-5000P and I found it very good. But my advise, set a bigger budget to buy the bigger size than CL-5000P. I found it little bit too small, good for bringing outdoor if need.

Cheers.

Too small? Get a projector!

For me, the Kaiser one can do the job well! Take it as a compromise!

Go for either the Kaiser or the Cabin. The cheaper ones are not colour corrected, and may not have the correct brightness, thus you might not be able to judge exposure and colour properly. Best deal is the Cabin CL5000P 4x5" lightpanel + Rodenstock 4x Aspheric Loupe for $190 at Cathay.

Cheapest projector you can get is probably a Braun 515AF for around $200.

kiwitan, I can let you try my Kaiser lightbox on Monday when we meet if you want. It costs me $70 from Fotoguide.

Like to add, the Kaiser lightbox uses 6 AAA batteries and not 4. And it uses up the battery power very quickly too.
