How come no Tokina? For 3rd party lens for Nikon. I have tried and strongly recommmended below 2 lens. 1. 12-24 F4 Tokina. 2. 28-75 F2.8 DI XR Of course if willing to pay "extra extra" for Nikon 1. Nikon AFS 12-24 F4 2. Nikon AFS 17-55 F2.8 3. Nikon AFS 70-200mm f/2.8G |

I agreed that Tokina 12-24 is very good for less.

From my impression,
Tamron 11-18mm f/4-5.6 17-35mm f/2.8-4 Sigma 10-20mm f/4-5.6 12-24mm 30mm f/1.4 120-300mm f/2.8 300-800mm Tokina 12-24mm f/4 All 1:1 macro lens, 16/17/18-50mm f/2.8, 28-70/75mm f/2.8, newer range of 70/80-200-210mm f/2.8 lens, tele-prime of these 3 brands seem to be good, and retain value quite well, though still most are uncomparable to original brand.
