The new batch of Ripvan100 Lightning 4000N charger is in. The manufacturer has replaced the defective batch with new stock although not all were affected.

The defect was covered by the 1 year limited warranty for manufacturer defects and hence all who were affected will get a one to one replacement.

It's faster (takes 160mins to charge four 2100mAh batteries compared to Sanyo's 4hrs) and has trickle charge to constantly "top off" batteries (none on Sanyo)

Just to add on that this 'ripvan' oem has discharge (aka conditioning) features which the sanyo does not. But note that this charger charges either 2 or 4 batts at a time, it cannot accept 1 or 3 batts (which I think the sanyo can).

We are the only ones carrying this model in Singapore. It's not available anywhere else in Singapore. But it's selling for US$23.95 (excluding shipping charges & warranty) at www.ripvan100.com
