Default Where to clean old lens?

Anyone know is there good place to clean old manul lens? And more important, what the price? As the lens may only cost $50, if the cleaning cost $30+, its not worth lah.
Thanks!

It's not worth it. I had an M50 1.4 cleaned at that place in the basement of Adelphi - I can't remember how much it was but it was at least S$100. OK so they had to separate some of the glass elements so it was more than a cleaning job but even so .... Also there are plenty of those old manual lenses around on ebay so why go through the hassle?

Try Camera Hospital at Sunshine Plaza...Opposite Peace Centre. The guys name is Steven Lee. Does a good job. Price ranges from $50-100 plus depending on the lens condition.

Shop Tel: 63360025

I usually go to PRIME next to Cathay Photo to clean my manual lens. Andrew there does an ok job for around 50. I think 50 is a reasonable price because there are many elements in the lens which is not a simple task.

If your lens is not Pentax SMC, then I think it is not worth to clean it...

cheerss..

Hi, is this guy Steven Lee a young chap or an old uncle? I remember the cam hosp used to be run by an old uncle.

For cleaning lens, camera, etc. Try..

Prime Camera @ Peninsula Plaza #01-15
...(note that they no longer provide cleaning or servicing of camera equipment with immediate effect)

Cam.X @ Peninsula Hotel Shopping Ctr #01-20
...Nick Foo - 63391232

The Camera Workshop @ Peninsula Hotel Shopping Ctr #01-31
...will usually ask you to leave the lens with them to check, and will get back to you with quotation after a few days. Dont know whether they have changed this or not..

Alex Photo @ Peninsula Plaza #02-? near EastGear
...

P&G Photographic Ctr @ The Adelphi #B1-04
...David & Andrew Phan - 68370696

Ron Camera @ The Adelphi #B1-31
...Ron Chan - 63387131

Note that Prime Camera Centre no longer provide cleaning or servicing of camera equipment with immediate effect. The business have been bought over by the boss of Toy Craft (not Toy Plaza, my mistake). You may still find Andrew at P&G together with his brother David if you need his services.

jus wondering if these places offer services to repair lens. i recently obtained a 50mm f/1.7 SMC-A lens. whenever i try to turn the aperture ring towards f/22, it will get stopped exactly between f/8 and f/11. not sure what the problem is, but can any of these shops be of any help?

If they can clean lenses, they can also repair them. Try P&G cause they can repair almost anything (including watches) as long as its mechanical.
