Hey guys,

have any of you experimented with silkypix 3.0? It seems that they are claiming that they use BOTH the S and Rpixels for resolution thereby giving you TRUE 12meg resolution!!!!!

the english version of 3.0 is not out.

There is a dpreview guy who downloaded the resolution chart shot and compared HU and silkypix3.0

Looks like silkypix finally did something nobody else had done b4. Used the FULL 12meg resolution.

Hmm... it seems interesting enuff for me to try it.

Looking at the results, moire control, contrast, sharpness are all significantly improved.
ACR seems to oversharpen details on an overkill mode and HyperUtility (ironically) softens details to control on moire.

Silkypic seems to have the best balance amongst all 3 RAW processors.

HOWEVER....
Macintosh Requirement
OS: Apple® Mac® OS X v10.3 or later is recommended (MET!)
CPU: PowerPC® G4 with dual processor (G5 or newer is recommended)
Intel Core Duo compatible*
Internal Ram memory: Minimum 512MB is recommended (MET!)
HDD: At least 750MB free hard disk space. (MET!)
VIDEO:The Display supporting screen resolution more than XGA(1024x768) is necessary.
The Display and the Graphics card that color indication more than 16bit is possible.(24bit color) (MET!)
OTHERS: The environment that can connect with Internet. (MET!)

Do I have to change my iBook just to run it? Damn!

the english version of silky pix 3.0 beta is released

here is an except from the manual detailing the special function for s3pro camera ONLY. It is quite cool to see a software maker specially making a function for s3pro considering how little of the market s3pro has.

4.8.2 Resolution Plus

This function is only for RAF (RAW data) of FUJIFILM FinePix S3Pro with WIDE mode.
FinePix S3Pro has super CCD honeycomb SRII sensor, which has low sensitive sensor (R sensor) between high sensitive sensors (S sensor).
SILKYPIX® can make full use of these information to increase the image resolution.
But it is very difficult to use the information of low sensitive sensor because it has only one 16th energy and high noise. Therefore it makes sometimes outline noise emphasized or jagged outline.
This function provides you to adjust the balance between the high resolution and noisy/jagged outline demerit.
If you set it 0, then SILKYPIX® does not use the information of low sensitive sensor for increasing resolution but for gradation always.
If you set it 100, SILKYPIX® makes full use of these information to increase the image resolution.
This parameter is influenced by "demosaic sharp" parameter. Please take the balance of these parameters.
