Default Need help tuning to 97.6FM

    hi guys,

    i have this problem.

when i am in the car, i can tune into this station 97.6fm (hitz.fm, a malaysian channel)

but when i am at home, i cant seem to do it. i tried it at home (more than one receiever), using my friends sony handphone. both cant seem to tune into the station.

are car antennae special? how much will it cost to mod one so that i can receive the station? or is there some special radio that can tap the station?

    thanks!

dun think its car antenna special, just that your car is not blocked by all the buildings... reception will drop once u enter a building.

that said, u can try using extending your antenna, or if you use ear plugs, extend the line all the way, u will probably have better reception. Then use manual select to that channel. and walk around to see if its audible.

i find car radios more poweful than home stereo radios in that aspect...car radios can receive signals better...i've tried tuning in to 95.4 at home and i hear lots of noise, but inside my car, i can hear the broadcast loud and clear..

perhaps its due to the super long antenna, imagine this...

distance from receiver to the antenna + antenna length (those extension rod or hidden line kind.. ) about 5 meters... super long antenna...

anyway, y not buy a satelite dish?

seconded.btw, sony handphone if i am not mistaken uses ur earpiece as the antenna so how in the world u want it to receive the signals properly. Also wads the power of the receiver of ur handphone, i'm sure it is less than that of your car!!!

actually for receiver it has nothing to do with "power" but sensitivity. I am not sure if a small receiver cannot be more sensitive than a larger one.
