Guys, I'm seeking your opinion for these two lenses, since I don't feel like spending 2K for a DX (APS-C) format lens.
Has anybody tested these two lenses? Which one has better overall performance? Cheers. ![]() |

Usually for this type of question, you will end up with replies from those who own the Sigma saying sigma is good or better, and those who own the tamron says tamrom is good or better. Best is get the opinion of someone who owns (or owned) both, or have performed a comparision test of both.

build? sigma
optics? tamron weight? tamron, edges out the sigma by a bit filter size? same! focusing? i think should be around the same |

Well, the Sigma 18-50 has a high pronounced level of CAs . . real high . ..so far the Tamron has been the recommended one on the market.You can try Sigma's 17-70, its a nice piece of glass, but without a constant F-stop.
