Default Chiang Mai / Chiang Rai / Mae Hong Soon

    Hi everyone,

I'm going to the Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai and Mae Hong Soon next week.
    Any recommendations?

Are there nice sunset / sunrise photos to take?
Thinking of bringing my heavy tripod + DSLR.... dunno if will regret or not..

Most will visit the famous temple Doi Suthep

You can consider the waterfalls and the hot springs

Not sure about the sun rise and sun sets

Maybe can bring along and leave in the bus/hotel if you don't need it. If you didn't bring, maybe you also regret.

bring a light tripod...lotsa waterfalls! and picturesque landscapes, not to mention PEOPLE

    enjoy yourself!

    Depends on your budget.
If u have lotsa equipment, u can rent a car with driver daily, and he can drive u anywhere, stop on the way, then u get out take yr time to take photos while he waits.
(I remember early this year the rental was about 1200-1500Baht for 1 day around Chaingmai area, more if u go up country)

Yah... tripod is about 3 kg with ballhead.... (Giottos w/ Manfrotto 488RC0)
    Training muscles...
Actually meant for windy trips and my heavy gear.
I don't have a light tripod at the moment, had donated my SLIK to my cousin and it's kinda damaged at the moment.

    Thanks for the advice.
Guess I'll have to sling all my gear along...
