Yes at Juring Bird Park.. the colours are due to the lighting of the enclosure...

owl shot looks like it was taken in some cold snowy country. nice. first pic composition is good.

It appears that the owl shots were taken in the absence of flash. How did u manage to focus?? Also, I remember the enclosure was darker than what was shown in the owl pictures. How did you manage?

Focusing isn't so much of a problem.. you just need to find the distinct contrast areas to focus on first, then lock focus and recompose.

The colours came out because it is a long exposure... but the birds will have to 'cooperate' and remain still for the 1-2seconds.
