Default Anyone want to shoot birds this Sunday?

It's bird season and I can't bear to wait any longer for the haze to clear.
Worse come to worst, will end up trying out macro.
So anyone interested in an outing at dawn this Sunday, 8th?
I am thinking of Singapore Botanic Gardens or Sungei Buloh Wetlands Reserve.
Anyone interested can indicate their choic?

Sounds interesting. I never shoot birds before. (Well, got par chiao before, lah).

I'd prefer Botanic Gardens simply because it's more accessible for me 'cos I don't drive. But I think Sg Buloh will have more birds, no?

Used to be so last year but SBWR birds that are easily spotted are further away.
There are literally "sitting ducks" in SBG. I prefer the varieties in SBWR but will go with the majority choice.

I am not much better since I stay in the Upp Serangoon area.
Normally, if I catch the first bus, I can arrive in SBG or SBWR by sunrise which should be ard 7.00 a.m.

Agree that it is going to be very difficult to get a good sized pic of a wild bird with that lens.
Still got your FZ5?

300mm need leg zoom and only for bigger birds. If you have macro lens, bring it along cause you may be able to shoot more macro than bird.

In bird photography, you will never have enough reach. Some minimum recommendation from those pro bird shooter (not me), 500mm f4 + 1.4x TC or 600mm f4 + 1.4x TC on DSLR.

Have fun, prefer to go there on Saturday cause lesser people and less noise disturbance.

So far, for my case, morning and early evening seems to be better time for birding, both Sg Buloh and Botanic Garden.
