Hopefully the thread go more in depth

So anymore tips from you who is also another wedding master.

I have a question regarding banquet shoots. Which is more difficult? Places with low light and low ceilings or high ceilings. Low ceilings prevents light from travelling to the back. High ceilings light does not come back. Any opinions and does the settings varies in these two situations.

i've got an idea but i've yet to try.
for low lights, use bounce, then put a slave flash behind the subjects.
so that when you fire, the background behind the subjects will be lit.the power of the flash of course could be varied on the slave itself.

i would prefer high ceilings though.anyway, for background to be more lit, just slow the shutter speed to about 1/30s.
then again you'll have the 'orangy background with flash lit subjects.
Ken rockwell suggested using flash gels to match the colors.

Just send you email, btw, the link in your signature where it leads to "Hardcover Album" the photo frames has your email as ...@gamil.com instead of ...@gmail.com. You may want to correct it.

I was thinking back on Chinese wedding that I attended, the podium is well lit right, then maybe the Photographer need to pre-position himself/herself with the podium as background.

As for frequently used acronym, that too we have in CS, see this link http://forums.clubsnap.org/showthread.php?t=165806, isn't CS a great source of information?

My avatar is that of my late dad, we were very close, I used to have an avatar which is a picutre of me as a baby sitting on his lap, but now switched to using this avatar lately. Thanks for asking, now you make me teary eye already.

Forgot to answer your question, AWL = Advanced Wireless Lighting, CLS = Creative Lighting System, something like that, but it is really wirelessly controlling the speedlights from a master unit.

then again you'll have the 'orangy background with flash lit subjects.
if the ceiling is too high and your flash is not powerful enough
the light from your flash will not be bright enough to light the bg

if you increase your ISO speed and/or your aperture, you just might be able to do it.
but since you are lighting your bg with light from a flash,
then you do not need to slow down your shutter speed as the ambient light will be
washed out by the light of your flash.

if you don't want to play with colour gels, you can also get tungsten video light and shoot using tungsten WB and no flash.
