Hi. There is one for KM DSLRs. How about one for the Sony Alpha-100?
(There isn't such a thread is there?) I kick-start with this one, only my 2nd time using my camera for "real": ![]() ND Grad filter, P mode, DRO+. Sigma 10-20mm. Minimal retouching using Paint Shop Pro X. Rest of the series here.

KM 17-35 2.8-4 + 70-200 f4 or if you want the constant f2.8 alternative: Sigma 18-50 f2.8 + 70-200 f2.8. or if you want the luxury ticket: 17-35 f3.5 G + 70-200 f2.8 G Last edited by satay16; 2nd October 2006 at 04:39 PM. |

This is sort of OT in the photo thread
![]() If you are not pixel peep, actually the 18-70mm + 75-300mm kit lens would do,, if you don't mind the the corner a bit soft at 18mm, and not so sharp from 200-300mm part. Or 18-200mm for convinience (135-200mm a bit soft and slow though). And get a 50mm f/1.7 or 28-75mm f/2.8 for portrait or low light lens. Other lens like KM 24-85mm, 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5, 28-135mm f/4-4.5 also not bad. Tele wise, good one aer as recommended by others KM 70-210mm f/4 beer can, heard that 100-200mm f/4.5 also not too bad, but cheap to get. KM 100-300mm (APO version) f/4.5-5.6 would be a good tele, sharp at 300mm, also the 100-400mm APO f/4.5-6.3. For fast and sharp tele, probably 70/80-200mm f/2.8 lens (or 3rd party one), but as usual they tend to be more expensive and heavy. You may look at this website for more Alpha mount lens info http://dyxum.com/lenses/index.asp

My contributions. Would really like to see more A100 users and more discussions about this camera and between the users.
Coincidentally, I have a very similiar shot. ![]() Punggol Beach ![]() - |

KM 17-35 f2.8-4 costs around 500+ to 600 depending on seller...hehe.
70-210 f4 not widely available, need to go ebay get...now prices a bit crazy...around sing $300+ i guess (used to be much cheaper...can u imagine that?! haha)...depending on condition also. actually the 70-210 f4 is good enough la. cheap and good really. took the following photos in raw with my 70-210 f4, post-processed it a bit only (to increase sharpness a bit) http://picasaweb.google.com/cyjphoto...ionDanceBattle

Well, what lens you get depends on what your needs are. Landscape? Weddings? Sports? Check out this post "Gear Line Up" at Konica-Minolta Legacy sub-forum.

Watch out for back focusing problem for this lens on the Minolta/SONY DSLR. Seems to be a common problem. If you can test out before buying.
You should open a new thread for your question. I'm comitting the same OT as you now by answering.
